Loran Dell Greenlee, a longtime resident of Shawnee passed from this life on Monday, November 18, 2024, at the age of 69. Loran was born in Shawnee on January 15, 1955, to Roy C Greenlee and Mary Ruth (Hendershott) Greenlee. Loran grew up in Shawnee and attended South Rock Creek School, then Shawnee Junior High School, and later graduated in 1973 from Shawnee High School and played on the football team.
Following his high school graduation, Loran did several things. He was a rodeo bull rider briefly. He also worked with his father at the Shawnee News-Star. He later worked for several Shawnee area companies including Allen Bradley, Eaton Corporation, Belshe Trailer Company, Pratts Grocery Stores, City of Shawnee, and Shawnee Public Schools as a bus driver.
Loran was a longtime member of the Immanuel Fellowship Church of Seminole. Loran met the love of his life and married his wife Dana on August 27, 1983, in Little Axe, Okla. They remained happily married for 41 years. Most of all Loran was a loving son, brother, husband and grandfather and he will be missed by the many people who knew and loved him.
He is preceded in death by his mother and father; and by an aunt, Rachel McLaughlin.
Loran is survived by his loving wife Dana of the home in Shawnee; two daughters, Chanda Carreon of Shawnee and Cana Hall and husband Jacob of Meeker; a brother, Lonnie Greenlee and wife Connie of Shawnee; two brothers-in-law, Darrell Smith and wife Tammy of Little Axe and Derrick Smith and wife Penny of Little Axe; sons-in-law, Israel Carreon of Shawnee and Kyle Trent of Mulvane, Kan.; three grandchildren, Emiliano Carreon and Elena Carreon of Shawnee and Raylon Hall of Meeker.
Viewing for Loran will be held on Friday, November 22, 2024, at McElyea & Owens Funeral Group from 2 until 7 p.m..
A funeral for Loran will be held on Saturday, November 23, 2024 at 2 p.m. at Immanuel Fellowship Church, 3103 Highway 3 North in Seminole with Rev. Tim Tate officiating.
Arrangements are under the direction of McElyea & Owens Funeral Group of Shawnee.
