Naudine Claire (Nelson) Greenawalt
June 14, 1932 ~ 2022

Naudine was born in Evanston, Il, on June 14, 1932, to Herbert and Jean Nelson. Her family relocated to Corning Ca when Naudine was midway through the 11th grade, and she graduated from Corning High School in 1950. After graduation, she moved to Sacramento where she met the love of her life James W Greenawalt Jr., who was a 2nd Lt in the Air Force. They were married on May 21st, 1954, in Sacramento, CA. They relocated to Japan where they had two children, James W Greenawalt III in 1957 and Scott L Greenawalt in 1959. After that they relocated to Washington DC then back to Japan for a short stint there. From there the young family moved to Hawaii for three years after which they moved to O’Fallon Il for three years. From there, they moved to Altus where Naudine worked in the pharmacy at Jackson County Memorial Hospital and Jim retired from the Air Force.

In 1980, Jim and Naudine moved to Oklahoma City where they have lived since.

Jim and Naudine traveled extensively cruising the Alaska coast, Russia, the Baltics, Greece, and Central America and the Caribbean before the light of her life passed away in 2013. Jim and Naudine were active members in the Oklahoma City Boat Club where they enjoyed sailing on lake Hefner and made many long-term friends. Naudine has three grandchildren from J and Kathy; Evan, Gaylan and Hayden and two grandchildren from Scott and Patrice; Grace and Lucy.

Naudine had a special place in her heart for wounded Veterans. In lieu of flowers or other gifts please consider supporting the Tunnels to Towers Foundation which supplies specially constructed homes for seriously disabled veterans. Memorial services will be at 1:00 P.M. on Friday, October 7, 2022 at Matthews Funeral Home Chapel.
