Jere Dee Green

Jere Dee Green
January 4, 1955 ~ May 21, 2023

Donut sales are expected to fall sharply in Oklahoma City. Jere Dee Green, affectionately known as “Paw” to his grandkids, “Uncle J” to his nieces and nephews, and as simply “JG” to his friends, relocated from the home he shared with his precious wife, Debi, for over 46 years to a custom-built mansion crafted by his Lord and Savior which was completed and ready for occupancy way ahead of schedule on Sunday morning, May 21, 2023. His favorite pastime was donuts and “Paw Time” on Saturday mornings with his grandson and granddaughters. The news has rippled through the “hole food” industry with many establishments forced to modify their 2023 projections down drastically.

Jere and Debi raised two sons, Jacob and Zachary, to be amazing young gentlemen in that home together. This heritage of servant/leadership led Jacob to Stefanie and Zachary to Amy in lifelong loves followed by the blessing of 1 son and 1 daughter to Jake and Stef and 2 daughters to Zach and Amy.

Jere leaves a legacy of unrivaled servanthood to OKC 1st Church of the Nazarene, Lakeview Park Church of the Nazarene, and Crossings Church where he and Debi are members. He met no strangers, becoming a faithful and steadfast friend to more than can be numbered. If you were fortunate enough to have been befriended by Jere, you know a level of devoted friendship rarely experienced in this world. His sense of humor brightened his workplace of over 38 years at Dolese Brothers Company. His undying loyalty to the Dallas Cowboys spanned their entire franchise life through losing seasons and Super Bowl domination, but being at his grandson’s and granddaughters’ sporting events eclipsed all those memories.

Jere was preceded into Heaven by his dad, Doyle Green of Bethany, his father-in-law, James McCoy of OKC, brother-in-law, Danny McCoy of OKC, and bonus dad, Norm Fabri of Wanchese, NC. As has been Jere’s habit for decades, he has gone ahead early to get coffee going and preparations completed for the rest of us. Those remaining for now, include his mother, Marilyn “M.J.” of Watauga, TX, mother-in-law, Ida of OKC, his adopted sis, Tami, and brother, Tag, both of Keller, TX, sister-in-law, Drew and husband, Brian of Edmond, OK, 7 nieces and nephews, and many grand-nieces and nephews.

Celebration of Jere’s life will be held Thursday, May 25, 2023, at 2 o’clock in the afternoon at OKC First Church of the Nazarene, 4400 Northwest Expressway, Oklahoma City, OK 76113. Celebration Service will be led by Larry Hess and Jim Williams, directed by Mercer-Adams.
