Dorothy Margaret Green, age 88, of Hollis, passed away Monday, February 18, 2013 at Colonial Manor Two, in Hollis, Oklahoma.

Mrs. Green was born in the Fresno Community of Wellington, Texas on July, 21, 1924, to Jacob L. and Mollie (Denney) Black. Dorothy grew up and went to school in Wellington, Texas. She later moved to Amarillo, Texas and met the love of her life, J. L. Green, and they were married on December 14, 1944 and spent many wonderful years together, until his death in 1996. Dorothy and J. L. worked at Pantex, in Amarillo during World War II and then moved to Floydada, Texas where they farmed for many years. In 1968, she attended Aladdin Beauty College in Altus, Oklahoma, where she graduated with her beautician license. After graduation, she opened up her own beauty shop in Wellington, Texas, where she worked, until her retirement. In her spare time, Dorothy enjoyed quilting, going to church and spending time with her special friends and family.

Preceded in death by her parents, her husband, one son, John Green; one daughter, Debbie Baker; two sisters, Maricarol Popwell and Beatrice Reddock; one brother, Clarence Black; and four grandchildren, Susan Hull, Mollie Levesque, Billy and David Green, she is survived by 6 children, Yvonne Dugger of Hollis, Linda Rollins of Hollis, Ann Kelley of Quanah, Texas, Vicky James and husband Mike of Altus, Douglas Green of Altus and Jacob Green of Altus; one daughter-in-law, Bonnie Pettigrew of Longview, Texas; 20 grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren, 7 great-great-grandchildren, along with numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services for Dorothy Green will be at 2 p.m., Friday, February 22, 2013, at the Church of the Nazarene, in Hollis, Oklahoma with Pastor Jim Fishback officiating. Interment will follow at Fairview Cemetery in Wellington, Texas, under the direction of Harmon County Funeral Home.
