Memorial services for Lester Ray Greathouse were held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, May 18 at the First Baptist Church in Ardmore with Dr. Alton Fannin officiating.
Lester was born on May 22, 1963, to Evelyn Abernathy Cullum in Ardmore. He graduated from Plainview High School in the class of 1981. He worked at Michelin tire plant for nearly 30 years.
He met the love of his life, Lisa Renee Foster, and they married on August 24, 1985. Together they had three children: Cash, Cody, and Hannah. He loved his family and always attended every sporting event or occasion. Everyone who knew Lester knew he would give them the shirt off his back if they needed it. He could fix almost anything, and if he couldn't, it was at least "Lester" fixed for the day. If you had a flat tire, he'd be the one pulling over to help change it. He loved OU football and never missed a game on television, often hosting fish fries for friends and family. As grandkids came, so did forts, slides, and swing sets, all crafted by his hands and his heart, even as far as having to test the slide out first.
Lester was preceded in death by his mom, Evelyn Abernathy Cullum, and brother, J.T.
Survivors include his wife, Lisa; sons, Cash Greathouse and wife Rae and Cody Greathouse; daughter, Hannah Stendel and husband John; grandkids, Kinsler, Creighton, and Crimson Greathouse; brother, Larry Greathouse and wife Kelly; in-laws, Lewis and Jo Foster; brothers-in-law, Steve, Bobby, and Scotty Foster and their families; and many nieces, nephews, and friends.
Serving as honorary pallbearers were Mike Meadows, Mike Huggins, Lenny Walker, Pat Nicholson, Brad Beane, Keith Miles, and Buger Minyard.
Remember Lester's kind and giving heart. The best way to honor him is to love your neighbors and help those whenever you see a need. If you or someone you know are suffering from depression or mental health, please reach out for help.
You are loved.
