Shirley Jayne (McCall) Puckett Gray

June 4, 1932 ~ Feb. 19, 2002

HOLDENVILLE, Okla. - Shirley Jayne McCall Puckett Gray, 69, died Tuesday, Feb. 19, 2002.

Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. today in Hudson-Phillips Funeral Home with the Rev. Richard Turner officiating. Private burial will take place.

Mrs. Gray was born June 4, 1932, in Oklahoma City, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Shelby McCall of Oklahoma City. She graduated from Classen High School in Oklahoma City, Ward Belmont Junior College in Nashville and Oklahoma University at Norman with a degree in English literature.

She married M. Hunter Puckett, moved to Amarillo, Texas, in 1958, and became active in many community organizations. She was a member and past president of Delta Gamma Alumna. She was active in Junior League of Amarillo, the PTA at Coronado school and March of Dimes. She moved to Oklahoma City in 1969, later married Lloyd Gray, then moved to Holdenville.

Survivors include two sons, Wolf Puckett of Amarillo and Shelby Puckett of Katy, Texas; a sister, Sharon McCall Ivester of Sayre; five grandchildren, Lela Puckett and Hunter Puckett, both of Amarillo, and Oldham Puckett, Austin Puckett and Luke Puckett, all of Katy; a cousin, Bob McCall of Oklahoma City; a niece, Patricia Ivester Mann of Oklahoma City; and a nephew, Tom Ivester of Sayre.

The family suggests memorials be to Don and Sybil Harrington Cancer Center, Breast Cancer Fund, 1500 Wallace Blvd., Amarillo, TX 79106.
