Ryon J. Graves

Ryon J. Graves
Aug 14, 1968 - Sep 26, 2013

Ryon J. Graves, 45, of Nowata, OK died Sept. 26, 2013. He was born to J.R. and Martha Sue Graves on August 14, 1968 in Nowata, OK.

He pursued his first love of horse racing, working at several national thoroughbred racing tracks which allowed him to travel the country. The biggest triumph during the time he worked at the track was handling Kentucky Derby winner Thunder Gulch in 1995.

Reaching the decision that it was time to stop traveling, he returned to Oklahoma to start his construction business which grew to a nationwide renovation company.

Of utmost importance to Ryon was the love of his family, he was most proud of all three of his children.

Ryon discovered his spiritual side later in life, but it became a huge portion of who he was and how he treated his family and other people.

He is survived by his daughter, Julia Devega-Cruz and grandson Dominic of Vista, CA, son Rion and daughter Josey Graves, of Louisville KY, his sister, Deborah Decker and brother Randy Graves.

He was preceded in death by his mother, father, and brother Rick.

A private celebration of life memorial will take place on October 3, 2013 at 1:00 at Rice Funeral Home in Claremore, OK.

The bottom line with Ryon was "ALWAYS REMEMBER AND NEVER FORGET" and anyone that knew him knew what that meant.
