Robert Benjamin "Bob" Graham

Robert Benjamin "Bob" Graham
February 12, 1925 ~ December 24, 2017

Mr. Robert Benjamin (Bob) Graham, 92, of Bartlesville, passed away peacefully on Sunday, December 24, 2017 at 10:00 A.M. at the home of his oldest son in Tulsa. Born on February 12, 1925 in Tuxedo (Bartlesville), OK, he was the son of the late Archie Graham and Cottie Mae (Gaskill) Graham.

Memorial services for Bob will be held at 1 P.M. on Wednesday, January 3, 2018 in the Stumpff Funeral Home Chapel. Senior Pastor Jeff Burress of East Cross United Methodist Church will be officiating.

Bob was a lifelong Bartlesville resident, graduating from College High with the class of 1943 where he participated in all sports. He was a member of the '43 basketball team his senior year that finished with a 25-3 record. He married his junior high sweetheart, Pat Graham, in March of 1945 and they remained happily married over 72 years until her death in June.

Bob worked his entire career for Cities Service Co. later becoming the Gas Service Co. He retired in 1987.

Bob enjoyed many activities including boating, camping, hunting and fishing in his earlier years. In his later years he enjoyed taking cruises with his wife, holidays and time spent with family, puttering around the yard on his John Deere riding mower, and taking immaculate care of his vehicles. Bob was an exceptional fastpitch softball pitcher and player, participating in area leagues in his younger years and in church leagues well into his forties. When not involved in those activities he could usually be found on the golf course or at home watching the Price is Right or Judge Judy. Bob was an avid golfer and was a member of Sunset Country Club from the time of the sand greens right up through its eventual closure and had a hole -in-one on the difficult par three 14th hole. He won many events there and was a past club champion. He particularly enjoyed playing in the Parent/Junior events with his grandchildren. The main highlight of his golfing life was an eleven day trip to Scotland in 1985 with his two sons. There they played many of the courses where the British Open has been played including the most famous course in the world, The Old Course at St. Andrews.

Bob was a member of the East Cross United Methodist Church, the Eagles Lodge, the American Legion, the Moose Lodge and was a veteran serving in the Navy from 1943 until 1946, when he was honorably discharged.

Bob was preceded in death by his parents, wife Pat Graham, brothers Harold Graham and Wayne Graham, sisters Gladys (Graham) Daugherty and Maxine Graham. He is survived by sons Robert R. (Skip) Graham (Gayle) of Tulsa, OK and Jeff Graham (Diana) of Bartlesville, OK. He is survived by five grandchildren: Matthew Graham (Lora) of Broken Arrow, OK, Jennifer Guire (Brian) of Edmond, OK, Chantel Wolfe (Brad) of Broken Arrow, OK, Jarod Graham of Oklahoma City, OK and Micah Graham of Oklahoma City, OK.

He is survived by seven great grandchildren: Brooklyn and Delaney Guire, Isaiah, James, and Colin Graham and Ayla and Carys Wolfe.

For those who would like to give in Bob's memory, the family suggests donations to the American Cancer Society or the Mutual Girls Club of Bartlesville.
