Larry Edward Graham

Larry Edward Graham
July 19, 1946 ~ June 21, 2012 (age 65)

Graham, Larry Edward was born July 19, 1946 in Chickasha, OK to Mildred Odell Smith and Edward Lee Graham.  He was their only child.  

Larry grew up in Lawton, OK and graduated from Lawton High School.  He loved to fish with his dad, was active in R.A.'s and Boy Scouts.  Larry attended college at Cameron University and Oklahoma Baptist University.   He received his bachelors in Religious Education and a minor in music.  He met his wife, Dixie Argo during that time.  They were married May 31, 1965 in Norman, Oklahoma and went on to graduate from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary with a Masters.  Larry and Dixie traveled throughout Texas and Oklahoma sharing their love of Jesus and community for nearly 20 years.  

Larry enjoyed leading music, ministering to youth and seniors and bringing people closer to God.  During those 20 years, Larry and Dixie adopted two children, Steven and Becky.  The family settled in Norman, OK in 1985.  Larry began working in various other fields.  In 1994, Larry began working for OKDHS continuing to foster his passion for helping families and others in his community.  Larry enjoyed traveling, camping, and spending time with family and friends.  His life long love for fishing and hunting fueled his love for life.  In March 2012, Larry was diagnosed with Pancreatic Cancer.  On June 21, 2012, Angels embraced Larry and took him Home to Heaven's Fishing Honey Hole.  

Larry was preceded in death by his mother and father.  

He is survived by his wife, Dixie Argo Graham of Norman; his daughter, Becky Bowling and husband Tim of Norman; his son, Steven Graham and wife Peggy of Eugene, OR; grandchildren, Dylan, Alex, Aubrey, Lauren, Catherine; great grandchildren; brother-in-law, Bob Argo and wife Voncille of Grand Junction, CO; brother-in-law, Ron Argo and wife Liz of Edmond; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.  

The family would like to thank Heartland Hospice for their loving care and support; especially Jennifer, Kerri, Michelle and Heather.

Memorial services will be held 10:00 am, Thursday, June 28, 2012 at Crosspointe Church of Norman.  

Arrangements for Larry and his family have been placed in the care of the Vice Family at the Havenbrook Funeral Home of Norman.
