Victor M. Govett

March 18, 1935 ~ October 11, 2018

Victor M. Govett died on Thursday, October 11, 2018 at The Journey Home. He was born in Bartlesville, OK on March 18, 1935 to Sam and Viola (Lowen) Govett. He attended Jefferson Elementary, Central Jr. High and graduated from Bartlesville College High in 1953. He attended Bacone Junior College. He married Joyce Elaine Morris in 1954. They were blessed with 64 years of marriage and had two children, Cindy and Pam.

Victor worked for Phillips Petroleum for 38 years. During those years, he also raised cattle and officiated local ball games. He served many years as a volunteer at The Tuesday House and holds the honor of being their first male board member. He volunteered with the city in Neighborhood Services and The White Rose Cemetery Board.

His most valued role has been that of a loving husband, dad and grandpa.

He is survived by his wife Joyce; daughters and sons-in-law, Cindy and Guy Boyle and Pam and David Christianson; and his grandchildren, Brent Boyle and his wife Naoko, Brian Boyle and his wife Amy, Matt Christianson and Sara Christianson.

His family and friends are blessed with beautiful memories. He was a simple man who had big dreams for his family - which he worked relentlessly to provide for. The world will always need more men like him, and we are eternally grateful to have called him husband, dad, grandpa and friend.

Victor has donated his body to The University of Oklahoma Medical Sciences. There will be no memorial service. The family asks that if you would like to honor Vic, to please consider a donation to The Tuesday House or The Journey Home in Bartlesville, OK.
