Rockey "Rock" Duane Gottfried, age 70, of Stillwater, Oklahoma passed away Sunday, November 10, 2024 in Tulsa. He was born January 30, 1954 in Perry, Oklahoma to Walter and Ida (Shelton) Gottfried. He grew up in Perry and Stillwater area and attended school in both places through the 10th grade.
He married Sherry Lucas on October 17, 1975 in Stillwater. They had no children together but had many nieces and nephews. Rock and Sherry had a special Love that most people didn't understand, but they did. He enjoyed hunting with his brother and fishing with many friends and family. He worked many years as a heavy equipment operator in and around Stillwater. In Rock's later years he enjoyed visiting with friends at J.W.'s and the Senior Music’s in the area. He also loved going to swap meets, auctions, and checking out old cars and trucks.
Rock was preceded in death by his parents; grandparents; three sisters; one brother; a nephew; and several aunts and uncles.
Those left to mourn his passing include his wife, Sherry; two special nephews, Kenneth (Bridget) Gottfried and Will (Tanna) Gottfried; brothers, Cleo Gottfried of Perry, Randy Gottfried of Newkirk, Stoney (Cheryl) Gottfried of Tryon, Cecil Gottfried of Enid, Lloyd Gottfried of Stillwater, and Stormy Gottfried of Queen City, Texas; sisters, Barbara Bloom and Shirley Schwandt both of Stillwater; numerous nieces and nephews; special friends, J.W. Lafollete, Mike Lafollete, and Jim Hargrove.
A Celebration of Life service will be held on Saturday, November 23, 2024 at 1:00 P.M. at Fellowship Freewill Baptist Church in Stillwater, Oklahoma with Rev. Roy Fleshman officiating.
