Helen Mae (Booker) Goss

March 14, 1915 ~ July 13, 2004

Helen Mae Goss was born March 14, 1915 in Lexington, Oklahoma, the daughter of Harvey P. and Lessie Lee Booker. She passed from this life on July 13, 2004 at Kindred Hospital in Oklahoma City, Okla. following a lengthy illness.

Helen was married to Ben E. Goss on August 22, 1935 in Purcell, Okla.

They had three children: Carolyn June, Doris LaVerne, and Delbert Eugene.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Ben E. Goss, one son, Delbert Eugene Goss, her parents Harvey P. and Lessie L. Booker, one sister, Myrtle Swanner, three brothers: Loyett Wesley Booker, Roy Booker and James Booker, and one nephew, Dale Booker.

Survivors include two daughters: June Grey of Whitesboro, Okla. and Doris Henderson of Tuttle, Okla.; one sister: Savada Todd of Purcell, Okla.; 16 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren and one great great grandchild, several nieces and nephews.

Helen was a member of First Baptist Church, Tuttle, Okla. She was a homemaker who loved her family and friends. She was widowed at the age of 64.

Prior to the death of her husband, Helen played the guitar and Ben played the fiddle for many years in fellowship with other friends.

Following the death of her husband, Helen played the guitar with the Senior Citizens Band of Noble, Okla. She was the last surviving member of the band.

She was also a member of the Senior Citizens group of Tuttle, Okla. Besides her musical abilities, her hobbies included sewing, ceramics, and crafts.
