Darrell Allen Gorre

 Darrell Allen Gorre
July 22, 1952 ~ December 13, 2017

Darrell Allen Gorre, 65 years of age, passed away on December 13, 2017 in Denver. He was born on July 22, 1952 in Enid, Oklahoma to Dorothy Gorre and Robert (Chub) Gorre, graduating from Enid High School in 1970. Darrell played baseball for the Enid Police Athletic Club (PAL) for about five years and in High School. He was known as one of the best second basemen in Enid. He had a lifelong passion to umpire kid's baseball in Enid and Denver. He graduated from Northwestern Oklahoma State University in Alva and later received his master's degree at University of Central Oklahoma. Darrell retired from the State of Colorado after 20 years of service as an Administrative Program Specialist with Health Care Policy and Finance. He retired from umpiring four years ago.

Darrell is survived by his wife, Tina Dill. He and Tina liked to travel, hike in the mountains, and go to Yoga and Zumba together. He was an excellent cook and also liked to play pickle ball. Darrell is also survived by his mother Dorothy Gregory, brother Tim and sister-in-law Shirley Gorre and their children Brett, Thomas and Spencer, uncle Ed Gorre, nephew Jim Gorre, cousin Devon Gorre, and Darrell's daughter Stephanie Carducci and three grandchildren Tanner, Payton and Brandon. He is also survived by his stepsister Suzanne and her husband Dr. Rev. Charles Lillard and their family, stepbrother Dr. Rev. Lewis and wife Lu Gregory and family, stepbrother Judge Bruce and wife Myra and family, stepsister Debbie and husband Donnie Vinardi and family, stepsister Cynthia and husband Alan Thomas and family, stepsister Pam and Oliver Wright and family.

Darrell was preceded in death by his grandfather W. A. Johnston, grandmother Juanita (Gorre) Martin, father Robert Gorre, nephew Kelly Gorre, brother Brian Gorre, stepbrother David Jones, uncle Bill Johnston, uncle Robert Johnston, stepfather Herman Jones and stepfather Lyndol Gregory. Darrell was an eccentric and wonderfully kind person who never met a stranger. He fought to better the lives of kids and the underprivileged while he worked for the State, and did not live to see the progressive government he so hoped for. Darrell will be greatly missed by his family and friends.

A memorial celebration of life service for Darrell is scheduled in Enid at 1:00 pm on January 15, 2018 at Central Christian Church, 1111 W. Broadway, with Dr. Rev. Charles Lillard officiating. Condolences may be made and the service maybe viewed online at www.LadusauEvans.com.

A memorial may also be made through Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home to Enid Joint Recreation Triad for children (EJRT) or Northwestern Oklahoma State University.
