Pamelia Carol Goree, known affectionately as Pam to her friends and family, lived a vibrant and fulfilling life, marked by her unwavering spirit and generous heart. Born on August 11, 1929, in Altus, Okla., Pam's journey through life was a testament to her resilience and capacity for love, which continued until she passed away peacefully on November 16, 2024, in Guthrie, Okla.

Pam's life story is one of dedication and service, both to her family and community. She was the beloved matriarch of a large and loving family, including her two devoted sons, Steve Hardesty and wife Pamela, and Michael Hardesty and wife Paula. Her legacy of love is carried on through her cherished grandchildren Brett, Stefanie, Greg and wife Dianna, Austin and wife Nichole, Chelsea and husband Eric. Her great-grandchildren Mackenzie, Jaxon, Eleanor, Oliver, Blake, and Joseph brought immense joy and pride into her life. Pam's sisters, Kay Reed and Linda Bradley, along with her many nieces and nephews, will fondly remember her nurturing presence.

She was preceded in death by her husbands Wendell Hardesty and Matt Goree, her son Tom Hardesty and his wife Sherilynn, her sister Jacqueline Burke, and mother and father Tena and Dallas French.

A proud alumna of Oklahoma State University and Oklahoma Baptist University, Pam earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Home Economics. Her commitment to lifelong learning and personal growth was an inspiration to all who knew her. As a 50-plus-year member of Alpha Chi Omega Sorority, she exemplified the values of leadership, service, and sisterhood. Pam's professional life was marked by her tenure as vice president of new accounts at BancFirst, where she served for 20 years. Her impact on the Shawnee, Okla., community, her home of 72 years, was profound. She held leadership roles including PTA president, PTA council president, Jr. Service League president, and Jaycee Janes president. Pam also gave her time and energy as a den mother for Cub Scouts, a volunteer for RSVP Meals on Wheels, Friends of the Library, and Children's Museum in Seminole, Okla.

In retirement, Pam continued to cultivate relationships and community spirit as she moved to a retirement community in Edmond, Okla. There, she was embraced by new friends and remained close to her family, a source of great happiness and fulfillment in her later years. Pam's interests were as diverse as her contributions to society. She took great pleasure in supporting her grandchildren at their sporting events and school activities. An avid Oklahoma State University football fan, she never missed a chance to cheer on her team. Her love of literature kept her mind sharp and she found joy and camaraderie in playing bridge and other card games. Pam's appreciation for the arts was evident in her regular attendance at movies, plays, and theatre performances, she loved to travel and was always ready for a new adventure.

The words that best describe Pam - faith-filled, selfless, and thoughtful - only scratch the surface of her profound impact. She lived her life as a beacon of hope and a pillar of strength, encouraging everyone around her to strive for excellence and to approach each day with gratitude and optimism. Her unwavering faith guided her through life's challenges and was a source of comfort and inspiration for those fortunate enough to know her. Pam Goree's life was a masterpiece of love and service, a narrative of a woman who embraced each moment with grace and enthusiasm. As we celebrate her life, we are reminded of the power of a positive attitude, the importance of community involvement, and the enduring legacy of a well-lived life. Let us carry forward her spirit of generosity, her dedication to family, and her passion for life, ensuring that her remarkable legacy continues to inspire generations to come.

A service celebrating Pam's life will be at 2 p.m. on Sunday, November 24 at Crawford Family Funeral Service, Edmond.
