Arlene Vera (Deaton) Gore passed from this life on July 25, 2018 at the age of 94.
Arlene was born on June 29, 1924 to Ernest and Clara Deaton in Lenora, Oklahoma. She graduated from Taloga Public Schools in 1942. On May 22, 1946, Arlene was married to the love of her life Wayne Gore.
Following her marriage, Arlene attended Southwestern College, where she attained a B.S. Degree in Education in 1951. Following this she taught in Putnam for 2 years, Taloga for 2 years, Camargo for 8 years, two other rural schools, and Woodward for 24 years. After 38 years of teaching, Arlene retired from teaching in 1982. With the newfound freedom of retirement, Arlene and Wayne traveled for 20 years, going on several bus tours throughout the years. In 1999, Arlene and Wayne moved to Seiling where they finally settled down.
Arlene was a member of the First Methodist Church, the Oklahoma Education Association, Woodward County Retired Teachers, and was the President of the Seiling-Chester Board of Directors for the Senior Citizens Center. Arlene would work with the Senior Citizens Center and with projects for the Seiling United Methodist Church. Through her involvement with her community and organizations, Arlene made many friends during her life. She loved flowers, crafts of all kinds (she made many quilts in her life), sewing, working with people, church work, and music.
Arlene is preceded in death by her husband Wayne Gore; parents Ernest and Clara Deaton, her two brothers, and one sister-in-law.
Cherishing her memory are her nephews, nieces, one sister-in-law, and many friends that she made throughout the years.
