Virginia Marie Gordon, 68, passed away Tuesday, December 7, 2010 at Midwest City Regional Hospital. She was born July 11, 1942 in Plattsburgh, New York to Henry Sears and Florence Rivers. Her Family moved to the Del City area in July 1974 from Sacramento, California.
Virginia married James Gordon on May 30, 1964 in Morrisonville, New York.
She attended schools in Beekmantown, New York. Virginia traveled all over the United States, Okinawa and Germany with her husband during his active military time.
Virginia and James raised one son and two daughters. She was a very generous and friendly person that was always ready to help anyone in anyway that she could. She was a patroller for the Del Aire Neighborhood Watch. Virginia was an avid golfer and ladies golf champion seven years in a row. In addition to golf, Virginia enjoyed coaching her children's softball and baseball teams along with other youth athletic programs.
Virginia was a member of the Tinker Air Force Base Chapel, Midwest City, Oklahoma.
She is preceded in death by her parents; two brothers of up state New York and one sister.
Virginia is survived by her husband, James, of the home; one son, James Jr., of Del City, OK; two daughters, Brenda Gordon of Huntersville NC and Carole Magness of Del City, OK; two brothers, John Sears of Parkland, TX and Earl Sears of Morrisonville, NY; four sisters, Laah Sorrel of Morrisonville, NY; Cecelia Rennedette of Morrisonville, NY; Regina Coryea of Morrisonville, NY and Amy Catellier of Lakeland, FL; one granddaughter, Candace Walsh of Choctaw, OK and one great granddaughter, McKayla Walsh. Her memory will also be cherished by numerous people that she considered family.
