In 1981, Maria met the love of her life, Paul Gordon. Together they moved to Lawton, OK and were married on December 2, 1981, where she gave all of herself every day until her last. Maria was a loving and supportive wife while her husband served in the United States Army, traveling with him from Fort Sill, OK to Schabish Gmund, Germany. As a military spouse, Maria not only supported her husband, but the soldiers as well, operating a phone call center at Fort Sill and running the Stars and Stripes bookstore on Bismark Kasern, Germany.

Not only was Maria a loving wife to Paul, and wonderful mother to her two children, Ian and Heather, but she was loved by all, touching many lives and making lasting friendships along her journey of life, always with a smile, a hug and a huge heart. Maria also enjoyed dancing, music, food, the outdoors, riding with her husband, and the community, but she loved nothing more than spending time with family and friends.
