Grace Babin Gordon, also known as "Nanie" was Cajun born January 21, 1934 to Ellis P. Babin and Lucille Sanchez Babin at home on Black Bayou Road in Gonzales, Louisiana.
She met and married Jerry Doyle Gordon Sr. while working in a pants factory. From this job and union, she entered the greatest job of her life, being a wife and mother.
