William "Bill" Gorden

William "Bill" Gorden
December 08, 1948 ~ August 23, 2020

William “Bill” Gorden was born December 8, 1948 in Tulsa, Oklahoma to William and Margaret (Fager) Gorden. He attended St. Catherine’s and Bishop Kelley. He earned his first of many degrees with a Bachelor of Science in political science from the University of Oklahoma. He subsequently obtained his Juris Doctor from OCU’s School of Law. He met and married Debbie (Wiedemann) and the two were married in 1982. The most important things in his life came next in his two sons, Will and Sean. He found his calling as a teacher at Redlands Community College and in every sport where he was called “Coach,” a title he held especially dear. He was ordained a Deacon in the Catholic Church in 2002 where he remained a faithful servant to the parishioners of St. Charles Borromeo with a special love of the Hispanic community of faith. As a true renaissance man, his passion for bicycling, painting, languages, and above all, reading, inspired all those who knew him.

He is survived by his wife of thirty-eight years, Debbie, his son, Will Gorden and his wife Ashley Gorden, his son, Maj Sean Gorden, and two very loved grandchildren, Foxx and Poppy Gorden, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and family and friends.

Public vigil services will be held at St. Charles Borromeo Thursday evening, August 27 at 7:00 PM and a Funeral Service for close friends and family will be held Friday, August 28 at 9:30 AM. Bill would be the first to insist everyone look after their own safety first during these unique times and above all, take care of your own health. Your continued love and support for the family is already known and greatly appreciated.
