Faye Goodwin was born August 10, 1930, in Navarro County Texas, to Albert and Glen (Harwood) Hairrell. She passed from this life on December 17, 2013, in Hugo, Oklahoma, at the age of 83. She married Bill Goodwin December 22, 1956, in Hugo, OK. Faye was a lifelong resident of Southeast Oklahoma and lived most of her adult life in Messer, OK. She was a Christian, embracing the Pentecostal faith, a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She loved being a homemaker, reading good books, and making crafts. Faye was, also, a talented seamstress, often designing and making Barbie doll clothes enjoyed by her daughter, granddaughter, and those special great-nieces!
She is survived by her daughter: Debbie Hedrick and husband Bob of Hugo; her granddaughter: Amber Pruett; great-grandson Taylor Cushman of Antlers; as well as many special nieces, nephews and other children in her life who affectionately called her Granny Faye. The residents, staff and volunteers at Baptist Village were, also, an important part of her family during the last years of her life. Although Faye had many challenges in her life, her faith in God never wavered. By the world's standards, Faye lived a simple life, but the legacy she left is monumental. Faye was an example of great faith and inner strength to many.
A private family service will be held later this week.
