Jan (Dunson) Goodson

Jan (Dunson) Goodson
February 24, 1939 ~ September 25, 2017

Born February 24, 1939, in Alva, OK, to Woodrow A. and Helen Kelly Dunson, Jan spent her childhood in Medicine Lodge, KS, beginning school in a one-room school house, Dry Creek.

She also attended high school in Medicine Lodge, where she became a part of an exceptional group of people, the loyal and loving Class of 1957.

She married her first love, Dick DeLano, and was blessed with a son, Michael Alan in 1956.

Jan and Mike moved to Albuquerque years later, where she attended university. There she met her second husband, Major Clifford Goodson, and became an army wife and stepmother to twin boys, Richard and Robert. She later was blessed with another son, Craig.

Jan worked as a receptionist in a dental office for over 15 years and was the bright, friendly face of the office. She loved socializing with people and many of the doctor's patients commented on how well she ran the front office and how friendly she was.

She was a voracious reader and a great conversationalist, well versed in many different topics. She spent many years taking care of her friends and family and had a real love for the elderly.

Jan is survived by her four sons, Michael (Sara), Richard (Isabel), Robert (Tracy), Craig (Agnessa); and her sister, Linda.

In accordance with Jan's wishes, we will have a celebration of her life in the spring of 2018, where we will scatter her ashes near her home town of Medicine Lodge, KS, along the beautiful Gyp Hills Road that she loved.

If you wish to attend the picnic in memory of Jan, please call Linda at 580-233-0693.

Jan's wish was to have any donations go to the Medicine Lodge Public Library.
