Charles "Charlie" Goodson

Charles "Charlie" Goodson
Jan 25, 1951 ~ Mar 29, 2016

Charles “Charlie” Goodson, 65, of Norman, passed away on March 29, 2016 in Slaughterville, Oklahoma, surrounded by the peaceful serenity of nature, while hunting and fishing. Those that knew and loved Charlie know that he died doing what he loved most. He is now resting in the arms of Jesus, along with his stepson Chad, his wife Theresa, and his beloved dog, Sweet Baby.

Charlie was born January 25, 1951 in Raytown, Missouri to Howard and Kathryn (Stoll) Goodson. He graduated from US Grant in 1969. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army and later retired from Southwestern Bell.

Charlie enjoyed watching OU football, playing crane games, scratch off lottery tickets, and watching NASCAR. He loved fishing, hunting, listening to music and spending time with his friends, however, his favorite times were those spent with his children and grandchildren, all of whom he adored.

He was a loving father, a doting grandfather, and a dear friend who will be greatly missed by all that were blessed to have known him.

In addition to his stepson and wife, Charlie was preceded in death by his parents, Howard and Kathryn Goodson; infant twin sisters; and two brothers.

Charlie leaves lasting memories with his children, Elisha Dawn Smith and Charles Dylon Goodson, both of Moore; brothers, Lonnie Goodson and Greg Goodson, both of Kansas City, Missouri; five grandchildren: Lael Howard, McKennen Howard, Blake Southerland, Maddie Southerland, and Emme Smith.
