Jerald D. Goodner, eighty-one, Friday, September 04, 2015 at 10:00 a.m., at the First Baptist Church Millburn.

Memorial services will be conducted by Brown's Funeral Home, and the Reverend Kenneth McCarthick.

Jerald was born February 23, 1934, at Sasakwa, Oklahoma to Robert Darrell and Erma Elzena (Stevens) Flowers/Goodner, and went to his Heavenly Home, Friday, August 29, 2015.

Jerald graduated from Pauls Valley High School in 1952, and enrolled at the University of Oklahoma and graduated in 1954. While attending O.U., Jerald served in the ROTC program. Jerald married Mary Sue Moody in 1955. This union produced two children.

Jerald completed Medical Technology Requirements at Gradwohl in St. Louis, Missouri, and was first employed as a Licensed Medical Technologist at Perry, Oklahoma, then later at Mission Hill Hospital in Shawnee, Oklahoma. While working at Shawnee, Jerald attended Oklahoma Baptist University, and attained two Degree's, one, a Bachelor of Arts in Biology, and a Minor in Chemistry, and a Bachelor of Science in Hospital Administration, in 1967. Jerald�s first position as Hospital Administrator was at Johnston Memorial Hospital in Tishomingo, Oklahoma, and he would hold that position for fourteen years, before taking the position of CEO at Cushing Regional Hospital at Cushing, Oklahoma, where he would be for the next five and a half years. While in Cushing, Jerald would complete requirements for his Master�s Degree in Healthcare Administration at the University of Oklahoma in Norman.

While at Cushing, Jerald accepted a position as Deputy Superintendent of Administration at Eastern State Hospital in Vinita, Oklahoma, then later as the Interim Superintendent, and would hold that position for eleven years, retiring in 1996.

While at Vinita, Jerald would be inducted into a Fellowship Status in the American College of Healthcare Executives, at Atlanta, Georgia.

Jerald is recognized as Past President of the Oklahoma Hospital Association, served on the Blue Cross and Blue Shield Board for ten years, served on the Hospital Casualty

Company Board, and numerous Committees in the Health Field. He is a Thirty-Second Degree Mason , and a Shiner with the India Temple in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, and Has been active in many Civic Activities, including serving as District Governor of District 3-K in the Lion�s Club.

Jerald married Mary Lea Rhea in 1980, and he and his wife are Members of the First Baptist Church in Milburn, Oklahoma.

Jerald will be loved and remembered as a Christian husband and provider, father, grandfather, and great grandfather.

Jerald was preceded in death by his parents, Bob and Erma Goodner, his brother, Hershel Flowers, a step daughter Pamela (Rhea) Callen, and her husband, Steve Callen, and their daughter Jennifer Lea Callen.

Jerald is survived by his wife Mary of the home, two biological children Chuck Goodner of Pauls Valley, and Debi Combs of Durant, Oklahoma, four stepsons, David Rhea and wife Donna of Tuttle, Oklahoma, Robert Rhea, of Tishomingo, Oklahoma, Thomas Rhea and wife Tonya of Milburn, Oklahoma, and Jeff Rhea of Jay, Oklahoma, eleven grandchildren, and seventeen great grandchildren, a brother, Bill Flowers, and wife Sue of Atoka, Oklahoma, and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.
