Shana Lyn Goodman, 48, of Norman, passed away Wednesday, June 18th, 2014, in Norman. Services will be held at 11 A.M. Monday, June 23rd at McFarlin Memorial United Methodist Church.
She was born in Norman June 30th, 1965 to Charles Edward and Linda Kay Goodman. While attending Jackson Elementary School, Shana began studying viola in the fifth grade. After attending West Mid High School, Shana was accepted into the Oklahoma Youth Orchestra, which was invited to tour and perform in China in 1981.
After graduating from Norman High School in 1983, Shana worked as a paralegal before forming a series of her own businesses. In 2001, she participated in the Honolulu Marathon as part of the Arthritis Foundation, in honor of her uncle who was afflicted with scleroderma. In 2003, Shana earned her Master Barber’s License, and worked as a hair stylist in Norman before owning and operating her own salon for several years.
Shana was an avid sports fan and dedicated follower of the Oklahoma Sooners, and the Oklahoma City Thunder, whose games she watched with her family at every opportunity. Shana loved music, reading, playing games with family and friends, and was an adoring owner of two dogs.
Shana is survived by her parents, sister Caryn Dawn Goodman-Record, son Jeffrey Patrick Fannon, nieces Cecilia Gloriann and Mia Christina Record, all of Norman. She is also survived by an aunt, uncles, cousins, and numerous friends. Shana was a devoted friend and a cherished member of her family.
Shana had long insisted on offering others the gift of life via the donation of her organs. This wish has been proudly honored by her family.
