Funeral services for Lonnie A. Goodman, Jr., 93, of Richmond, TX, formerly of Enid, OK, are set for 3 p.m. Monday, November 13, 2017, at Calvary Baptist Church, Rosenberg, TX 77471. 

Visitation will precede the service from 2-3 PM at the church.

A private burial will follow at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, November 15, 2017, in Forest Park Lawndale, Houston, TX. 

Mr. Goodman was born March 10, 1924, in Margaret, TX, to Lonnie A. Goodman, Sr. and Lora Mae Hembree.

He died Thursday, November 9, 2017. Mr. Goodman was married to Nadine Goodman on May 20, 1949, in Kyle, TX.

He received his Diesel Technician certificate from University of Houston in 1948. He served in the United States Navy during WWII and the Korean conflict.   

Lonnie had a 40-year career doing maintenance work for Tenneco Oil all across South Texas and in Oklahoma where he retired. 

He loved God, his family, camping in Colorado and woodworking. After retiring, he used his handyman skills and woodworking talents to further the Kingdom, traveling with the Baptist men and doing woodworking projects to benefit local ministries.

Survivors include two sons, Alan Goodman and wife, Jane, of Baytown, TX, and Kenneth Goodman and wife, Debbie, of Richmond, TX; grandchildren, Michele, Anna, A.J., Lydia, Johanna, Rebekah, and Daniel; great-grandchildren, Hannah, Madison, Elayne and Jocelyn; and many close family members, relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Nadine Goodman, his parents and sister.

Memorials may be made in his memory to Calvary Baptist Church, 4111 Airport Road, Rosenberg, TX 77471.

Psalm 116:15, "Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of his saints."
