Service Celebrating the life of Mrs. Billie Jo Gonella, 85, formerly of Merced, California will be 2:00 PM ,Monday, October 1st ,2012 in the World Harvest church with Pastor Brad Mendenhall Officiating. Service is under the direction of Brown-Cummings Funeral Home. Memorial service will also be held at a later date in Merced with Pastor Calvin Hogue officiating.
She was born May 7th ,1927 in Mineral Wells ,Texas. To Enoch and Zelma (Wood) Jones and died Friday, September 28th,2012 in St. Mary's hospital.
She moved with her family as a child to Carlsbad, New Mexico where she grew up and attended school.
She married Clinton C. Titus January 18th ,1946 in Carlsbad. The couple made their home in Carlsbad and then for a short time in Hartshorne, Oklahoma before returning to Carlsbad.
She later moved to California, making her home in Merced.
She married Lou Gonella in 1961.
She was proud to be a Grocery Checker and worked as one until she was physically unable. She then attended school and became a full time volunteer Forensic specialist for the Merced Police department.
She also worked as a security guard and gate guard for several private companies including the Color Press Magazine.
She attended Calvary Baptist in Merced and then the This Ain't Your Mothers Church in Merced.
She had recently came to Enid to be with her children where she attended World Harvest Church.
She is survived by Daughters Patsy Sorrels of Enid; Donna Titus of Merced California and Lana Wright and husband Gary all of Merced California; Son Clint Titus and wife Kelly of Blanchard Oklahoma; Grandchildren Melissa Case and husband, Steve, Shauna Carrington and husband Steve, Rusti Charles and husband,Travis,all of Enid and Stephanie Flowers and husband, Perry of Merced,and eleven great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents,both exhusbands,Clinton Titus and Lou Gonella.
Memorials may be made in her name to the Merced Police Department with Brown-Cummings Funeral Home serving as custodian of the funds.
