Bobby Howell "Bob" Goldston

June 06, 1931 ~ March 07, 2019

Bobby "Bob" Howell Goldston age 87 of Purcell, passed away Thursday, March 7, 2019 at Norman Veterans Center. He was born June 6, 1931, in Plainview, Texas to parents Joe and Flossie Goldston. Bob grew up a farm boy living in Texas and California, whenever his family could find work in the produce fields. At the age of 19, he married his sweetheart, Tempie Sue Martin. They were married on May 27, 1951, in El Centro, California and made their home there for nearly 40 years. In 1952, Bob joined the U. S. Army and proudly served his country during the Korean Conflict.

After being honorably discharged from the Army, Bob returned home to El Centro, California and started a family. He and Tempie soon became the parents of two sons, Ken and Bobby. Bob worked as a salesman most all his life. He first worked for Coca Cola for 13 years. Then Arden Dairy as a milkman for 16 years and later for Webbers Bread for 10 years before retiring.

Bob was a faithful Christian and member of the First Assembly of God in El Centro for nearly 40 years. After retiring, Bob and Tempie moved to Purcell, Oklahoma in 1989 and attended Memorial Assembly and later Lighthouse Worship Center. Throughout his life, Bob enjoyed playing church softball, bowling and golf. In his later years he loved watching O. U. football and vacationing with his family in Hawaii. Bob also loved reading his Bible. He will be remembered for his contagious smile and his great sense of humor. Also, his love for Christ and the desire to share Christ with everyone he met.

He was preceded in death by:

Parents, Joe and Flossie Goldston

Granddaughter, Kristen Goldston Widner,

Sister, Edith Crowell,

Brothers, Kenny, Billy Joe, Basil and Roland.

He is survived by:

Sons, Ken Goldston and wife Judi of Purcell, Bobby Joe Goldston and wife Lin of Moore,

Three grandchildren, Joe Goldston and wife Christie of Purcell, Jana Rowe and husband Jonathan of Warner, Nathan Goldston of Moore.

Two great grandchildren, Parker and Carter.

Also, numerous nieces, nephews, and a host of other relatives and friends.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to: The Gideon International, P.O.Box 5111, Norman, OK 73070.
