On December 26, 2022, Steven Dwayne Golden passed away surrounded by his loved ones. He passed at Integris Baptist Hospital after a long fight with covid, and kidney disease at the age of 55.
Steven’s life was often considered a miracle after surviving a heart transplant at the of 29 due to being born with congenital heart disease. Due to being sick as a child, Steve had to learn to play indoors where he learned to become a talented artist. He channeled this talent to becoming a tattoo artist, painter, and wood carver. He also developed a hidden talent for cooking and baking and making things from scratch.
Steven was the proud owner of Ron’s Barber Shop, which was an accomplishment he was most proud of. He worked at the barber shop for a total of 25 years and owned it for 15. His valued customers were a great joy to him and made coming to “work” a happy place for him that he could call his own. He enjoyed days at home farming and tending to his cows. He never passed up an opportunity to grab a rifle and head to the woods to go hunting or take a fishing pole and head to the pond to go fishing. He took every opportunity to go on camping trips with his family where he enjoyed spending the day on his boat at the lake with a koozie and a cold one.
Steven was totally irreverent. He was known for his goofy dad jokes, sarcasm and witty sense of humor. He could never resist a joke that was "too soon”. His sense of humor and great personality left an impression on all those who knew and loved him. We will remember him for his kind and loving heart and great personality. More importantly we will never forget his love for picante salsa on every food group, his snoring that would shake the whole house, and how bad his farts smelled. He was the best father, Papa, husband, and provider. We will miss him forever. Love you Dad
Steven was preceded in death by his parents, Susan Golden and Billy Golden; brother, Troy Golden; and his grandparents. He is survived by his soulmate; Mary Ann White; three daughters, Ciera Golden, Sienna Golden, and Nikki White; five granddaughters, Amora Atencio, Layla Gilpatrick, Ixis Atencio, Cecilia Garrison, and Thalia Sarracino.
A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Monday, January 2, 2023 at the Assembly of God Church in Chandler. Arrangements are under the direction of Lehman Funeral Home of Wellston.
