Hattie Elizabeth "Beth" (Parker) Goins

Hattie Elizabeth "Beth" (Parker) Goins
March 1, 1947 ~ August 8, 2019

Hattie “Beth” Goins, 72, lifelong Bartlesville resident, died Thursday in Bartlesville.

Beth as she was known was born the daughter of John Vern and Genevieve Pearl (Puckett) Parker on March 1, 1947, in Bartlesville. Growing up she was her mother’s helper and loved her siblings - all but one were younger than her. Beth lived her whole life on two adjacent streets just outside of the city limits: Magnolia which later became Margarite, and Mercedes. The family raised calves and one of her favorites was always following young Beth into the house.

Beth caught the eye of Jim Goins while he was spending the summer with his relatives who lived next door to Beth’s family home. The quickly fell in love and the romance was so special they never shared the details with their girls. Once married on December 11, 1965, Beth and Jim bought the land behind her parents’ home on Mercedes where she remained the rest of her life. Jim’s passing in 2015 after 50 years of loving marriage was very hard on Beth, and then earlier this year her daughter Amy passed unexpectedly and Beth missed them everyday since.

Beth was a loving wife, mother and sister. In her younger days Beth spent countless hours taking her girls out with their cousins for swimming and other fun activities. The close-knit family always gathered at Beth’s and her parents’ homes, and she would be sure to make her sweets and casseroles for everyone to enjoy. Jim and Beth loved to work together and they put in a large garden and canned their produce to enjoy later. They enjoyed fishing and camping, and in recent years attending the many school and sporting activities of their grandchildren. Beth loved her flowers, caring for her house plants, and having fun with her family and friends. She will be dearly missed.

Beth is survived by her daughter Julie Miller and Bryan, son in law David Donnell; three sisters, Judy Woods and Jack, Laverne Jackson and Joe, and Linda Stimson and Terry; as well as three grandchildren, Tierney Asbury, Caleb Miller and Chase Miller. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Jim, daughter Amy Donnell and brother Harry Parker.

Beth’s family will receive friends at the Davis Family Funeral Home – Dewey Chapel, 918-534-3030, 113 S. Osage (Hwy. 75), Dewey, on Tuesday, August 13, from 6-8 p.m. Services are under the direction of Carter Davis and the Davis Family Funeral Home – Dewey Chapel.
