Shirley Mae Godbey was born June 30, 1935, in Woodstock, Illinois, to Roger Goff and Jenny Simpson. Throughout the 88 years of her life, Shirley lived in many places including Illinois, California, Tennessee, and Oklahoma. She spent several years in Tulsa, Oklahoma, working in nursing, raising children, and grandchildren.
