Maurice Givens, 54, of Avalon Apartments passsed away Wednesday, September 27, 2006 at Baptist Burn Center in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
Maurice was born July 12, 1952 in Chickasha, Oklahoma. He graduated from Chickasha High School in 1970 and continued his education at Southwestern University in Weatherford, Oklahoma. After college he moved to Long Beach, California and worked as a youth counselor. Later he moved back to Chickasha and worked at Southwest Youth and Family Services.
Maurice was preceded in death by his mother Rose Mary Givens and brother Ray C. Ellis.
He is survived by five sisters: Wynona and husband Emilo Matos of New York; Janet and husband Kirk Johnson, Audry and husband Curtis Moss, Zelma Anikputa all of Chickasha; Terry and husband John Belisle of Canada; brother: Jerry Jenkins of Oklahoma City, Okla; and very special friends Shawn of Long Beach, California; Reggie Lollis and Welthon Joe Williams of Chickasha; nieces, nephews and many other relatives and friends.
A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, October 7, 2006, at 1st and Georgia Church of Christ in Chickasha, Oklahoma. Brother Curtis Moss will be officiating the memorial.
The Family of Maurice Givens would like to thank the Home Health Services and the Doctors who took care of him.
