Jimmy Ray Gipson, age 69, a longtime Atoka, OK resident, lived in Oklahoma City for the last 10 years. He was born on Monday, February 20, 1956, to Simon and Betty (Peters) Gibson, at home in Atoka, OK. Jimmy passed away on Saturday, March 22, 2025 at Oklahoma City, OK. He graduated from Atoka High School. Jimmy was a landscaper, brick layer and worked for the Oklahoma City Fairgrounds. Jimmy proudly served his country in The Oklahoma National Guard. He was a member of the Cumberland Presbyterian Church, proud member of Choctaw Nation and enjoyed playing horseshoes, fishing, playing pool, baseball and reading.
Jimmy is survived by his sister, Twilia Pittman and husband Roger of Atoka, OK; nephews and nieces, Bradley Pittman and companion Stephanie Noah of Coal Creek, OK, Eric Pittman and wife Rachel of Coal Creek, OK; uncle, Charley Scott of Coal Creek, OK; great nieces and nephews, J'sa, December, Brittney, Chelsea, Bradley Pittman Jr., Johanna, Savanna, Tristen, Ashleigh, Hailie, Kaitlin; along with numerous cousins, other relatives and many dear and loved friends.
Jimmy was preceded in death by his parents, Simon and Betty (Peters)
Gibson; grandparents, William and Tracy Peters, Jess & Maybelle Scott; along
with numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.
