Darla Gillespie, 65, beloved Mother, was called to her eternal resting place on June 16, 2016. She entered this world on May 14, 1951 in Ponca City, Oklahoma, born to Merle E. Jones and Frances L. Short Jones.
A memorial service will be held 10:00 a.m. Wednesday June 22, 2016 at the Faith Tabernacle Church with Rev. Don Stanton, pastor officiating. Memorial and Cremation arrangements are by Grace Memorial Chapel of Ponca City, OK.
Darla grew up in Kildare and she married Gary L. Gillespie in 1966 in Ponca City and he preceded her in death on 7/16/2008. Darla enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren as much as possible. She also enjoyed going to Bingo and going to the local Casino's. Before ill health forced her to retire in 2009 Darla worked at several restaurants in the area, Cobbs Cafe on 1st St and Mego Burger to name a few.
Darla is survived by her Mother: Frances Jones, 2 daughter's Candy Todd and James Lowe; Darletta McClung and husband Steve all of Ponca City, OK. 3 brothers: Rocky Jones and wife Debbie of Fayetteville, AR Stony Jones and wife Linda and Dusty Jones both of Ponca City, OK; 3 sisters; Darlene Young and husband Larry of Marland, OK Dorene Baker and husband Skeet of Kildare, OK and Doretta Simmons of Ponca City, OK. 7 grandchildren: Christopher McClung, Morgan McClung, Dajuan Gillespie, Jacob Gillespie, Tieasha Gillespie, Katlin Gillespie and Sierra Gillespie; 1 Great Grandson; Xander McClung also surviving are numerous nieces and nephews.
Darla was preceded in death by her father, Husband, 1 great grandson; Kavion Gillespie
