Clementine was born in Oklahoma Indian Territory and moved to California in 1945. She was admired by everyone that knew her.
While living in Porterville, California, she was the Womens Ministrys leader and taught Adult Sunday School for several years.
Clemmie was the author of many poems and published one book.
She was known for dressing like a queen with hats, gloves, shoes and matching jewelry. Her charm and wit drew people to her. She was known by all the neighborhood children as grandma and someone who always gave treats and opened up her home to them.
The grandchildren remember their Hot Rod grandma with pleasure, her fried chicken, peanut brittle and the colorful crocheted house shoes she gave as gifts.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Silas and two sons, Ray and Art.
She is survived by her daughters, Mary, Joyce and Verbena and son, Clarence; 13 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren and 15 great-great-grandchildren. Her 101 years here on earth touched many lives and makes our hearts smile.
Services will be held Friday, July 29th, 10:30 a.m., at Myers Funeral Home, in Porterville.
