Larry D. Giacomo, 82 year old Woodward resident, passed away Monday, March 17, 2025 in Woodward. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, May 24, 2025 at the Woodward Church of Christ. Arrangements are under the direction of the Billings Funeral Home.
Larry Dominic Giacomo was born on March 18, 1942 in McAlester, Oklahoma to George and Cleo (Colvard) Giacomo. Larry grew up in Wilburton and graduated from Wilburton High School. He attended Eastern Oklahoma University and received his Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering. Larry was inducted into the United States Army and served his country until being honorably discharged.
He was united in marriage to Jane Marie Wagner on May 20, 1967 in Wilburton, Oklahoma. They made their first home in Wilburton. They then lived in Stillwater for a short time before moving to Woodward. Larry worked for Halliburton Energy Services as a Field Engineer and Assistant District Manager for many years until his retirement.
He enjoyed woodworking, building things, hunting, and fishing. Larry loved spending time with his family, especially his grandkids. He always enjoyed drinking coffee with friends at K-Bobs which later became Red Prairie Steak House, yearly trips to Canada to fish, and watching anything the grandkids did.
Larry is survived by his wife of 57 years, Jane Giacomo, who died the following day; one son, Chad Giacomo and wife Cyndi of Woodward; three daughters: Kristi Hoover and husband Erik of Austin, Texas, Kelli Shaw and husband Rocky of Woodward, Samantha Patten and husband Rocky of Woodward; nine grandchildren: Rylie McCulloch and husband Mark, Payton Abernathy and husband Matt, Clay Hoover, Kimberlee Shaw and fiance Andrew Hinkle, Charley Shaw, Emilly Giacomo, Matthew Giacomo, Brody Patten and fiance Cindy Gabrel, and Bo Patten; one brother Steve Giacomo and wife Cindi of Wilburton; one sister Debbie Beller and husband Tim of Oklahoma City; other relatives and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, George Giacomo, mother Cleo Giacomo, sisters, Georgeann Kennedy and Paula Humphrey, brothers: Jimmy Giacomo, Ricky Giacomo, Michael Giacomo and his in-laws, Troy and Alta Wagner.
Memorial contributions may be made to the WOOF Pet Rescue with the funeral home accepting the contributions.
