Trudie Geneva Gervin born to Jim Henry (Rogers) Randolph and Norman Randolph on November 17, 1928, in Knoxville, Tennessee and was welcomed home by the Lord on December 6, 2022, in Duncan, OK.
Geneva accepted Jesus Christ in her early 20’s and became a devout Christian.
Geneva grew up in and around Knoxville, TN with her 4 other siblings. During her young years, Geneva started her musical journey. She learned how to play the steel guitar at the age of 11, she later learned to play the piano, organ, and guitar. In 1939 her father formed a family band called “The Randolph Family Band” that included her mother, father, two sisters, two brothers and Geneva. Geneva sang and played the steel guitar. Her dad Norman, worked at WNOX a 1000-watt radio station. It was Tennessee’s oldest radio station and ranked #8 nationwide. At the time WNOX became the steppingstone to the “opry” (later known as the “Grand ole opry''). Later in the 1940’s, The Randolph Family Band changed their name to “The Hub Spinners'' and it was stated that the “The Randolph Family Band” was the largest family band on the radio in Tennessee.
Geneva married Carl Parrot, together they had two children, Carl “Bud” Parrot and Sandra Parrot.
Her second marriage was to Charles Gervin, Sr. on July 5,1959 and together had 3 children, Donna, Sheri and Charles Jr. “Chuck”. From the years of 1965-1974 they lived between Knoxville, Cooksville, Nashville TN, and Lawton, OK, Geneva moved back to Lawton, OK after the death of Charles Gervin.
Geneva was not only a musician, in 2009, she formed the Norman Randolph Music (BMI) and the Randolph Books Publishing Company, where she co-wrote many books and published some of the family's songs. Geneva was a bookkeeper for many years at Northside Baptist Church and Whinery-Huddleston Funeral Home. She also was a real estate agent, writer and publisher.
Geneva was very active in her church and participated in activities such as singing in the choir and holding bible studies. In the early 2000’s,
Geneva and her remaining siblings would be invited to the East Tennessee History Center to represent The Randolph Family Band/The Hub Spinners, to be inducted into the “Hall of Fame “. This is now the home to some of their instruments and awards.
Geneva’s remaining loved ones are Sandra (Phil) Weatherly, Donna O’Krongly, Sheri (Tim) Lederer, Chuck (Deanna) Gervin, daughter-in-law Paula Parrot, 14 grandchildren, Todd Weatherly, Eric (Crystal) Weatherly, Chad Weatherly, Cindy (Darryl) Brooks, Jeremy (Jennifer) Parrott, Stephanie McConnell, Regina Walls, Megan Lederer, Goeffrey (Felicia) O’Krongly, Payton (Autumn) Gervin, Haylee (JP) Stallcup, Maggie O’Krongly and Adriana Gervin. 20 great grandchildren, 12 great-great grandchildren, many nieces, nephews and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Charles, brothers Clyde Randolph and wife, Florence, Carl Randolph and wife Geraldine, sisters Ruth Huskey and husband Roy Huskey and Ruby Simmons, son Carl “Bud” Parrott and grandson Carl “Buddy” Parrott,
