Carolyn Sue (Dozier) Gerhard

Carolyn Sue (Dozier) Gerhard
September 20, 1953 ~ November 1, 2023

Our mother requested to be cremated. A private memorial celebration, by immediate family only, will be determined at a later date. We highly encourage all extended family and friends to celebrate the life, memories, and passing of our mother Carolyn Gerhard in your own special way. Arrangements are by Fairview Funeral Home, Inc.

Another limb has fallen from the family tree. I keep hearing her voice say. “Grieve not for me. Remember the best times, the laughter, the song. The good life I lived while I was strong. Continue my heritage, I’m counting on you. Keep smiling, and surely the sun will shine through. My mind is at ease, and my soul is at rest. Remembering all, how I truly was blessed. Continue traditions, no matter how small. Go on with your life, don’t worry about falls. I miss you all dearly, so keep up your chins. Until the day comes, we’re together again.”

We lost our beloved mother, Carolyn Sue Gerhard, on November 1, 2023. Carolyn fought a battle of cancer & pneumonia until her final moments of life, but never giving up. She passed away on Hospice EOL Care at her son- Shannon’s home in Fairview, OK. surrounded by both her boys Shannon Milligan and Kevin Milligan, & family.

Carolyn was born in Corsicana, TX. on September 20,1953 to R.T. and Lula Mae Jolly Dozier. She was born into a big family of 11 siblings, 5 brothers and 6 sisters.

Carolyn was a kind soul, always willing to cheer people up with hugs or help talk their troubles away. She was a fiery pistol when needed to be, but a friend to everyone. She was a strong woman. She enjoyed coffee anytime of the day and her sons loved drinking it with her. She made the best Thanksgiving cornbread casserole.

Carolyn is preceded in death by her husband, her parents, 5 brothers, and 2 sisters.

Carolyn is survived by her sons- Kevin Milligan and wife Kala of Wills Point, TX, Shannon Milligan and wife Sheri of Fairview, OK. ; grandsons- Austin Milligan and wife Trinity Baker Milligan of Woodward, OK, Andrew Milligan and Seth Milligan of Fairview, OK, Rylee Milligan of Seagoville, TX, and Jagger Milligan of Wills Point, TX; granddaughters- Zoe McCullough of Seagoville, TX, and Alli Milligan of Fairview, OK; granddaughters- Everly Milligan of Woodward, OK; sisters Earlene, Kathy , and Crystal; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
