Michel Lee Geren, age 63 of Agra, passed away on Saturday, July 30, 2011 at the Drumright Nursing Home, Drumright, Oklahoma.
He was born on March 2, 1948 in Chickasha, Oklahoma to Tommy and Lillian Davis Mayes.
Michel attended Chickasha High School and graduated in 1968. He furthered his education at the University of Oklahoma.
He traveled for a number of years before settling in Agra. He married Linda Kadel on June 5, 1973 in Cushing.
In 1973, Robert Geren entered Michel's life, marrying his mother Lillian. What an impact he had on his life.
Michel was a truck driver, hauling for various companies throughout the states.
He was a member of the Tri-County Church of Christ.
He enjoyed riding horses, fishing and watching John Wayne...which was his hero. He loved being a cowboy, training horses and teaching others to ride.
Michel loved spending time with his grandchildren.
Survivors include his wife Linda of the home; mother Lillian Geren of Agra; daughters Glenda and Kathy of North Carolina; Carol Kadel of Agra; Jenny Geren of Agra; son Pete Milligan and wife Denean of Blanchard; brothers Ben Mayes of Verden; Martin Mayes and wife Stephanie of Chickasha; sisters Norma Self and husband Franklin of Cement; Patricia Simms and husband David of Chickasha; Veda Morse and husband Tom of Chickasha; Rachel Robinson and husband Donald of Chickasha; grandchildren Bryce, Brent and Brendon Milligan, Michel Geren, Seth Geren, Ely Toles, Wade Toles and Samuel Geren; and numerous nieces and nephews from all over.
He was preceded in death by his father, son Michel Geren, brother Larry Mayes and step-father, Robert Geren.
Memorial services will be held 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, August 3, 2011 at the Tri-County Church of Christ, Cushing.
Arrangements are entrusted to Palmer Marler Funeral Home, Cushing.
