Oct. 8, 1968 ~ May 1, 2013

WAKITA - Paula Sue Ivey George, 44, of Wakita, passed away Wednesday, May 1, 2013. She was born Oct. 8, 1968, in Dimmitt, Texas, the daughter of Paul and Carmen Sue Kiser Ivey.

Paula will always be remembered with great love by her sons, Skeat and Trey Beck of Goodwell, Okla., and Justin George of Manchester, Okla.; her mother, Sue James of Wakita, Okla.; sister, Karen Gleisner and husband Stoney of Canyon, Texas; brother, Jimmy Ivey and wife Wendy of Fort Worth, Texas; nieces, Ashlyn and Mattie Ford and Faith Ivey; nephews, Alex and Isaac Ivey; stepmother, Katie Ivey of San Antonio, Texas; and a host of other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her father; grandparents, Floyd and Drennan Kiser and Floyd and Lillie Ivey; and her stepfather, Richard James.

A memorial service will be 10 a.m. Monday, May 6, 2013, at United Methodist Church in Wakita. Interment will be held at a later date in Dimmitt, Texas.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to an FFA Chapter of the donor�s choice and may be sent in care of Prairie Rose Funeral Home, 602 E. Main St., Anthony, KS 67003.

Paula Sue (Ivey) George

October 8, 1968 ~ 2013

Paula Sue Ivey George was born October 8, 1968 in Dimmitt, Texas, daughter of Paul and Carmen Sue Kiser Ivey. Her childhood years were spent in the Texas/Oklahoma Panhandle area graduating from Dimmitt High School with the class of 1987. She attended college at WTSU, OPSU and NWOSU.

Paula had a great love for her family. She absolutely treasured her three sons. She was a dive into anything and everything type of woman. She preferred being outside, rather than in. She had a lifelong love for animals and was active in 4-H and FFA in her younger days and stayed active in the organization through her boys. She loved showing cattle, sheep and goats. Horses were her favorite. She broke horses and loved to ride and was even a registered horse massage therapist. She would adopt any animal that needed adopting. She spent countless hours helping children with 4-H and FFA projects. She was a member of the AQHA, ABGA, OYMGA and the Wakita United Methodist Church. She was active in school activities and was a former School Board Member for Wakita Schools.

Paula was a plant manager for Pellets Plus in Wakita, started a small business making lotions and soaps naming it JPEG Goat Suds and was currently working as an electrician for Sunderland Electric in Byron, OK.

Paula will always be remembered with great love by her sons, Skeat and Trey Beck of Goodwell, OK and Justin George of Manchester, OK; her mother, Sue James of Wakita, OK; sister, Karen Gleisner and husband Stoney of Canyon, TX; brother, Jimmy Ivey and wife Wendy of Fort Worth, TX; nieces, Ashlyn and Mattie Ford and Faith Ivey; nephews, Alex and Isaac Ivey; step-mother, Katie Ivey of San Antonio, TX; and a host of other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her father; grandparents, Floyd and Drennan Kiser and Floyd and Lillie Ivey; and her step-father, Richard James.

A Celebration of Life was held 10:00 a.m. Monday, May 6, 2013 at the United Methodist Church in Wakita with The Reverend Susan Grove and The Reverend Kyle Anderson officiating. The congregation sang "Holy, Holy, Holy." Mardis Ann Hess served as organist and Fawna Yunker as pianist. Gary Smith played "Amazing Grace" on his trumpet.

Interment will take place at a later date in Dimmitt, Texas.
