Mrs. Arlene Laverne George, 81, of Bartlesville, died on Monday, November 11, 2013 at her home following a brief illness.
Funeral services for Mrs. George will be held at 2 P.M. on Friday, November 15, 2013 at the Bible Baptist Church, (16170 State Highway 123) in Dewey, with Pastor J.D. Steelman and Brother A.F. Collins officiating. Funeral services and cremation are under the direction of the Stumpff Funeral Home & Crematory.
A memorial fund has been established and those who wish may send their contributions to the Bible Baptist Church Building Fund, 16170 State Highway 123, Bartlesville, Oklahoma, 74003.
Mrs. George was born on September 11, 1932 at Pearcy, Arkansas to Alvie and Evie Mae (Sanders) Paslay. She moved with her family to Barnsdall where she grew up and received her education, graduating from Barnsdall High School. She was married to M.L. George on December 27, 1958 at Caney, Kansas. They made their home in Bartlesville all of their married life. Rev. George was the founding pastor of Bible Baptist Church on July 24, 1966 until his retirement in 2000 and Mrs. George was active as a homemaker and pastor's wife. Mr. George preceded her in death on November 14, 2008 and Mrs. George has continued her home in Bartlesville. She was a member of the Bible Baptist Church and she liked to shop.
Survivors include one daughter, Marita Trout and husband Danny, two sons, Ricky George and wife Kim of Surprise, Arizona and Tracy George and wife Mary of Ramona, three brothers, Horace Paslay and wife Mary of Talala, Okla., Bob Paslay and wife Joan of Fairfax, Okla., and Ray Paslay and wife Donna of Skiatook, Okla, one sister, Mary Lou Brashear of Bartlesville, seven grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters, Lorene Dunman and Pauline Watson, a brother in infancy and one daughter, Marsha.
