November 2, 1927 ~ May 3, 2017

Mary "Ann" Vernon Gentry, age 89 and resident of Bartlesville, Oklahoma, passed away on May 3, 2017 in Jane Phillips Medical Center, Bartlesville.

Mary Ann Burrows was born November 2, 1927 in Throckmorton, Texas. She was the daughter of Jeff Burrows and Caddie (Fant) Burrows. Ann graduated from Throckmorton High School. She continued her education at Texas Tech in Lubbock where she met Frank Vernon.

Ann and Walter Frank Vernon were united in marriage in October 1948 in Throckmorton, Texas. Mr. Vernon preceded her in death in June of 1988. She later married Frank Gentry who preceded her in death in April of 2000.

Ann was employed with Phillips Petroleum Company as an Administrative Assistant where she retired after eight years of loyal service to the company. She was an active member of First Baptist Church since moving to Bartlesville in 1956. She served in WMU, nursery and childrens' church, meal delivery to the homebound and other projects focused on serving others.

Ann was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She loved time spent with her family. Her dog "Blue", a Jack Russell mix, was her constant companion and will also miss her!

Survivors include three children, Robert Vernon and his wife, Candi, of Lindon, Utah, Lianne McKinley of Bartlesville, and Laura Watson and her husband, Mike, of Draper, Utah; five grandchildren, Kenny Vernon, Lisa Morales and her husband, Jeff, Conrad Vernon, Calvin Vernon and Kaitlyn McKinley; six great-grandchildren, Kathleen, Cassandra, Chloe, Alycea, Daniel and Kaleb; and daughter-in-law, Sue Vernon.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husbands, Walter Frank Vernon and Frank Gentry; and her son, Richard Vernon in 1999.

The family suggests charitable donations in Ann's memory be made to Oklahoma Baptist Homes for Children in Owasso.

A memorial service is planned for Monday, at 2:00 pm in the chapel of the Arnold Moore & Neekamp Funeral Home, 710 S. Dewey Ave. Rev. James Biesiadecki will be the officiant.
