John Michael Gensler passed away on January 23, 2021 at the young age of 38. He was lifted from this world in peace, love, and light by his dad's spirit, who was no doubt waiting for him with open arms.
From a young age, John was always incredibly strong, both physically and in his moral character. He overcame many obstacles, and he had a talent for always seeing the good in other people. He was incredibly funny, genuine and unique.
John went to work in the printing trade, following in his Father, Grandfather, and Great Grandfather's footsteps. He was a natural, as the skill seemed to be a part of his heritage, and he made his Father very proud.
Anyone who knew him would agree that John's strength, wit and humor were only outmatched by his kindness. He would give his last dime to help others, and even in his passing he is still doing so through his desire to be an organ and tissue donor.
John always felt a deep love and empathy towards animals, and he especially loved cats. He had a passion for fishing, watching Nascar and playing darts. His laugh was infectious. He was a great friend. He gave the best hugs.
John was preceded in death by his loving Father Mike Gensler; Grandfather Delbert Gensler; Grandmother Marilyn Robbins; his amazing loving Aunts Cindy "Puff" Crabb and Tammy "Tam-Tam" O'Quinn.
He is survived by his loving mother, Sharon Gensler of Oklahoma City; his "G-ma" Nina Gensler of Midwest City; his Aunt, Linda Kaufman and her husband Michael Kaufman of Norman; his Aunts Jerri Lynn Konner of Grass Valley, CA and Lisa Ghariani of Oklahoma City; his Uncle Sal Ghariani of Oklahoma City; Cousins Chester, Matt, BJ, Natalie, Annie, Laura, Matt, Lauren, Carrie, and Jesi who were like brothers and sisters to him, not just growing up, but throughout his life; step-brother Jeremy; plus an abundance of friends who meant the world to him.
He will be deeply missed, and his soul lives on through his loved ones.
There will not be a service at this time due to John's passionate conviction social distancing should be observed to save the lives of our most vulnerable fellow human beings. There will be a public visitation Thursday, January 28th from 4-8 pm at Bill Eisenhour Funeral Home in Del City. All are welcome to come and give your love and share a story in the memory book. Masks must be worn and social distancing observed. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to YoungStroke, Inc.
