Kenneth A. Gay "Kenny" went home to be with our Lord on April 15, 2025, after a 27-day hospital stay from a hit and run accident.
Kenny was born to Jim and Louise Gay on October 15, 1957, in Bartlesville, Oklahoma.
Kenny attended school in the Dewey School System.
Kenny met the love of his life, Dana Childers at the Moon Glow Hut in November of 1974. In August of 1975 they got married. They made their home in Bartlesville until 1995 then moved to Cotton Valley area to make that their lifelong home.
Kenny worked in heavy equipment for the first few years of their marriage,
he worked in the oilfield for a few years, worked at the Phillips Research
Center and Help Desk Downtown from 1988 for 10 years then bought a Tire Shop
in Coffeyville Kansas. After selling the Tire Shop he started his Carpentry
business that he worked until retiring in 2022.
September 20, 1988, Kenny
and Dana were blessed with their son, Kasey their pride and joy. Kasey was
Kenny’s shadow and running buddy.
June 7, 2018, they were again blessed with twin grandsons Kolter and Kutter Gay. On May 15, 2024, their sweet granddaughter Whitley Gay came into their lives. Kenny was a proud PawPaw. Kenny enjoyed spending time with his grandsons whether it be T-ball, Play Days, Bullriding, Wrestlin; Fishing or chilling at the lake place. Kenny loved spending time at the lake place with family and friends, having a cold beer and a good meal.
Kenny could build anything and was a perfectionist at it.
Kenny left a huge hole to fill, his humor and kindness showed the love he had for people. He taught and helped many bonus kids throughout the years that have a huge respect for him.
He is survived by his wife Dana, son Kasey and wife Sara, grandsons Kutter and Kolter, granddaughter Whitley (Squishy) and step granddaughter Adalyn (Lupa). Brothers Leroy and wife Tammy, David and wife Adina; Stepbrother Donnie Gelwick, Stepdad Duane Gelwick, Sister Sharon Eutsler and husband Rick, Sister Inlaw Diana Trammel and husband James, Special Niece Shari Pyle and several nieces and nephews.
He was proceeded in death by Father Jim Gay, Mother Louise Gay Gelwick, Father Inlaw Darrell (Red) Childers, Mother Inlaw Ella (Fern) Childers, Grandmother Iva Burton, Grandfather Ciecero Buford, Grandmother Opal Buford, Grandfather William (Bill) Gay and Grandmother Ethel Gay.
