Leon D. Gatewood

June 12, 1943 ~ August 1, 2007

Funeral services were held Monday, August 6, 2007, in Green Country Funeral Home Chapel for Leon Gatewood, 64, of Stilwell, Oklahoma. Leon was born June 12, 1943, in Tahlequah, Oklahoma the son of Cecil and Sylvia (Long) Gatewood. He passed from this life at his home in Stilwell on August 1, 2007.

Leon had worked as a carpenter and a mechanic. He was married to Judy Taylor in Miami, Oklahoma on December 31, 1982.

He was preceded in death by a brother Harold Dean Gatewood.

Leon is survived by his wife Judy of the home; his parents Sylvia and Cecil Gatewood of Stilwell, Children Lisa Perez and her husband Carlos of Stiwell, Toby White of Ft. Smith, AR., Christopher Gatewood and his wife Sherry of Stilwell, Sonja Russo of Washington State, Melissa Gatewood and her husband Charles Risley of Stilwell, Melinda Gatewood of Rifle, Colorado, Matthew Gatewood of Stilwell, and Joshua Gatewood also of Stilwell; 16 grandchildren; two great grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends too numerous to mention.
