Earnest Wesley Gastineau
Earnest Wesley Gastineau died in his home on Sunday, July 20, 2003, at the age of 91.
Born in 1912 in Morris, Okla., Mr. Gastineau has been a Yolo County resident for 68 years. He worked for Tracy Motor Co. for 15 years, was a self-employed mechanic for six years, drove a school bus for five years and worked at the Contadina Cannery for 25 years. He was a member of Woodland Christian Center.
Survivors include his spouse Hazel Gastineau of Woodland; daughters Billie Joyce and Cleve Robinson of Woodland, Sue Foster and Dino Lynd of Ceres; sons, Ralph Foster and wife Donna, Wesley Gastineau, and Mike Gastineau and wife Susan, all of Woodland; grandchildren, Lori Hendrix and Mitch Robinson of Woodland and Deborah Higgs of Royal, Neb., Gerald Lynd of Kildeer, N.D., Patsy Robinson of Ceres, Kristine Parsons of Rockaway Beach, Ore., Robert Foster of Woodland, Amanda Foster of Kona, Hawaii, Justin Gastineau of Woodland, Jillian Gastineau of Marina, and Mike Gastineau of Seaside; great-grandchildren, Brian and Andrew Hendrix, Corey, Kara, Kaylen Robinson of Woodland, Anthony Higgs of Orchard, Neb., Thomas Lynd III of Turlock, Jessica Wells and Amy Lynd of Modesto, Jeremy Lynd and Breanna Lynd of Kildeer, N.D., Cody McCellan, Rachel, Megan, Michelle and Tiffany Robinson of Ceres, and Elijah Fernandez of Marina; five great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Gabe and Jesse Gastineau; brothers, William "Dutch" Gastineau, Marion Gastineau and James Gastineau; grandson, Thomas Lynd; great-grandson, Daniel Higgs; and granddaughter, Janel Gastineau.
Arrangements are under the direction of McNary's Chapel of Woodland.
Services: Visitation is scheduled from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, July 24, at McNary's Chapel. A graveside memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, July 25 at Woodland Cemetery.
