A Celebration of Life Service for John "Bob" Gash, age 85, of Enid, will be 2:00pm, Friday, March 6, 2026, at the Zion Lutheran Church, in Fairmont, OK, with Reverend Dwayne Schroeder officiating. The Enid Fire Department Honor Guard will provide Fireman's Honors. Service and cremation arrangements are under the direction of Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home and Crematory.
Bob was born on April 18,1940, in Woodward, OK, to John and Evelyn (Wegner) Gash, and passed away on February 27, 2026, at his home, surrounded by his loving family.
Bob married Caroline Burton, on June 14, 1959, at the Zion Lutheran Church in Fairmont, OK. He was a firefighter at the Enid Fire Department, retiring as a Lieutenant after twenty-five years of dedicated service to the Enid Community. Bob also spent two years as a police officer at the Enid Police Department, before joining the Enid Fire Department. Bob loved to help anyone in need, or anyone needing help.
Bob was a long-time member of the Zion Lutheran Church in Fairmont; he enjoyed working on cars and farm equipment. Bob enjoyed traveling and going to the lake. Bob enjoyed spending time with his family and friends and throwing Halloween and birthday parties, "if you weren't there you missed it."
Bob is preceded in death by his parents John and Evelyn; and five siblings. He is survived by his wife Caroline; three children, Linda (Steven) Hoag, John (Melisa) Gash, and Debbie (Bobby) Givens; four grandchildren, three great-grandchildren; his beloved dog Blackie; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Memorial donations in Bob's name can be made to Hospice Circle of Love, with Ladusau-Evans serving as custodian of the funds.
