Elvin Willie Garrison, 89, of Mustang, died May 10, 2012 in Norman, Oklahoma. The son of Lucy Alice and George Washington Garrison, he was born August 7, 1922 in Gainesville, Missouri.
Elvin served in the U.S. Army and was employed by Tinker Air Force Base as an aircraft mechanic. He was a member of the Bellevue Baptist Church in Newcastle and enjoyed working on lawn mowers and small engines. Elvin loved spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Helen Garrison; an infant daughter Linda Garrison; three brothers; and three sisters.
He is survived by his wife, Ginger Garrison of Mustang; son, Gary Garrison of Edmond; daughter, Brenda Pickard and husband Jerry of Blanchard; stepchildren, Gin Nombrana and husband Mario of Edmond, Alicia Harrison and husband Peyton of Blanchard, and Wayne Dewbre and wife Gayle of Blanchard; grandchildren, Demea Greene and husband Joel of Blanchard, Angie McGaha and husband Jeremy of Blanchard, Dillon Pickard and wife Kelly of Blanchard; step grandchildren, Benjamin Nombrana and wife Kris of Oklahoma City, Joshua Nombrana of Jones, Andrew Harrison of Blanchard, Ashley Harrison of Blanchard, and Dylan Harrison of Blanchard; 13 great grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends.
Funeral service will be held at 3:00 P.M., Sunday, May 13, 2012 at the Eisenhour Funeral Home Chapel in Blanchard with Pastor Michael Sturgell officiating. Memorial donations may be made to Room for Grace International, PO Box 777, Jenks, Oklahoma 74037 to support orphans in Haiti.
