Michael Lee Garrett (Mike) was born October 8, 1959, in Siloam Springs, Arkansas to Edgar and Bernice Garrett, and went to his Heavenly home on June 27, 2022, in Welling, Oklahoma at the age of 62 years.
Mike completed high school and dedicated 40 years of his life working at Baldor Electric Co. in Westville, OK, then took his well-earned retirement in 2020. But he continued working helping family, friends, and even strangers with anything that needed fixed. He was truly a jack of all trades.
He married Suzanne Guthrie of Guston, Kentucky on January 18, 1986, and they recently celebrated 36 years of marriage. They had Adam Michael and spouse Amber, and David Edward and spouse Lacey. They have 5 beautiful grandchildren who were all very close to their “Pa”: Copper, Kyran, Zane, William, and Riley.
Mike was a faithful member of Barber Baptist Church and accepted the Lord as his Savior many years ago. He has since told everyone he meets about the Lord and was the very definition of having a servant’s heart. He adored his family, and especially his grandchildren. He enjoyed volunteering for the Oklahoma Southern Baptist Convention Disaster Relief and has been on many trips with them doing what he does best, helping people. He loved to go fishing and hunting with his sons, grandkids, father, and father-in-law, Carl, any chance he got. He had a huge love for the great outdoors and sharing it with those he loved most brought him so much joy.
He is preceded in death by his brother: Larry Garrett.
He is survived by his wife: Suzanne Garrett; sons and daughters-in-law: Adam and Amber Garrett, David and Lacey Garrett; grandchildren: Copper, Kyran, Zane, William, and Riley; his parents: Edgar and Bernice Garrett; sisters and brothers-in-law: Hank and Patricia Faddis, Charlie and Karen Crittenden; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A Memorial Service was held 2:00 pm, Saturday, July 2, 2022 at the Barber Baptist Church, 26864 E. 862 Rd., Welling, OK .
