Paul Dewayne “Bub” Garr

Paul Dewayne “Bub” Garr
July 15, 1971 ~ December 7, 2021

Paul “Bub” Dewayne Garr was born July 15th, 1971, in Tahlequah, Oklahoma to Paul David Garr and Ellen Jean (Harlin) Garr. Paul passed from this life to his heavenly home on December 7th, 2021, at Ascension St. John Medical Center in Tulsa, Oklahoma after fighting many battles with his health at the age of 50 years, 4 months, and 22 days.

Paul was known as “Bub” to almost everyone he knew. While spending the last year of his life in the hospital, he found joy in reading his Bible and praying every day. He loved to attend church at the Christian Worship Center in Stilwell, Oklahoma with his family. Bub took great pleasure in deer hunting with his dad, fishing, watching Gunsmoke and the Andy Griffith Show, shopping at Atwood’s, and was always rooting for OU when it came to college football. He delighted in cutting and baling hay in his John Deere and restoring antique trucks. Another great pleasure of his was singing gospel music with the Gospel Troubadours as well as spending time cooking in the kitchen or BBQing with his girls.

At the beginning of his career, he supervised security at Baldor in Westville, Oklahoma as well as several Walmart stores for Professional Security Incorporated located in Ft. Smith, Arkansas. He later began working at Allen’s Canning Company as the Safety and Security Director where he dedicated 18 years of service. As a man of many traits, he created his own lawn care business by the name of Glory Land Lawn Care where he performed lawn care duties for various businesses in the Westville and Stilwell area. In addition, he worked as a maintenance man at both Stilwell and Westville Nursing Homes before joining his dad in the family business of raising cattle and baling hay.

He was proceded in death by his mother, Ellen Jean Garr, and his grandparents, Paul and Ellen Garr, and Luther Eugene Harlin.

Paul was a loving father to his two daughters, Brooklyn and Morgan Garr, and son, Brent. He is also survived by his father, Paul David Garr of Westville, OK and sisters, Laura Smith & Husband Brian of Rogers, AR, Davinnia Chopper & Husband John of Stilwell, OK, and Maranda Foster & Husband Todd of Watts, OK, along with his grandmother, Dixie Harlin of Westville, OK.

Bub was able to touch the lives of so many while here on Earth and will continue to do so even in his absence. He will always be loved and deeply missed by all who knew him.

We love you to the moon and back,

Brooklyn and Morgan Garr
