Shaun Allen Garcia, passed away on Saturday, October 23, 2021 in Shawnee, Oklahoma at the age of 42. Shaun was born on October 26, 1978 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. He was the son of Linda and David Mason. Shaun grew up in the Meeker area and was a 1997 graduate of Meeker High School.
Shaun was a huge Meeker Bulldog fan. He loved cheering on the Bulldogs along with the cheerleaders while he was in high school. He served the Bulldog basketball teams as a basketball manager while in high school. After high school, he looked forward to each birthday, when he received the newest edition of the Meeker Yearbook.
Shaun loved to celebrate, whether it was his birthday or Christmas, he always looked forward to those celebrations. Shaun loved to watch videos, movies and play on his iPad. He loved to doodle and write notes. He enjoyed outings to go shopping with his mom. He looked forward to getting his favorite snack, a package of pepperoni and a soda. Shaun was also very active in the Special Olympics, placing multiple times in track and field and bringing home several ribbons.
Shaun was probably most known for his big heart, loving spirit and positive outlook. He was very intelligent, funny and was popular. Shaun had a very special place in his heart for "his baby" sister, Madison.
Shaun was preceded in death by his grandfather, John Garcia; great-grandparents, Tony and Mary Rodriguez and John and Ruth Salazar; great-grandparents, Orin Mason; and grandparents, Ottis and Jerry Payne.
He is survived by his parents, Linda and David Mason; his sister, Madison Mason; grandmother, Rita Garcia; Aunt, Laura Garcia; uncles, Johnny Garcia and Ricky Garcia; uncles, Evan and Marie Mason and John and Laura Purdon; grandparents, Ronnie and Connie Mason and great-grandmother, Almeda Mason. He is also survived by a host of cousins, family and friends.
Memorial Service will be held at the First Baptist Church of Meeker, with Brother Joe Jones officiating. The date and time of the service are currently pending.
